Home Textiles 101: Small Touches That Change a Room

Home textiles don’t get talked about as much as clothing, but they’re what make a house feel finished — curtains, cushion covers, table linens, and throws all add warmth and colour to a room without a full redecorating budget. Here’s where to start as we build out this part of the Click & Pick range.

Pick one accent, not five

A room refresh doesn’t need everything replaced at once. Start with a single piece — a set of cushion covers or a table runner — in a colour or print that stands out against what you already have, then build from there.

Match fabric to the room

Heavier fabrics like velvet and jacquard suit formal sitting rooms, while lighter cotton and linen textiles work better in bedrooms and everyday spaces. Always check the fabric listed on the product page so it fits both the room and the season.

Keep pieces easy to maintain

Textiles that see daily use — cushion covers, table linens — are worth choosing in washable fabrics so they stay looking good with regular care. Save delicate weaves for pieces that get less daily wear, like decorative throws.

We’ll be adding home textiles to the shop alongside our shawls and bedsheets — check back soon.
